American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), District Council 37 photographs, 1946-2003 (bulk 1967-2000).

Series I: Public Employee Press files consists of the photographic files of DC 37's official newspaper, Public Employee Press (PEP), arranged by issue, in chronological order. Early issues are scattered from 1959 to1967; there is a solid run from 1967 to 2000. The bulk of the images are 8 x 10 black and white photographic prints; color photographs begin to appear in the late 1990s, and files from 2000 on contain primarily 4 x 6 color snapshots. Series II: Locals files contain mainly black and white prints pertaining to specific DC 37 locals, many of which were shot for or used in locals' newsletters. Series III: DC 37 History primarily documents specific events, officers, staff, and members in the Council's history. Series IV: DC 37 Subject files contains images documenting DC 37's programs, committees, associations and specific concerns. Series V: General subject files depict a miscellany of topics that are not directly related to DC 37. Series VI: Contact sheets, contains contact sheets, many of which correspond to PEP images. Series VII: Negatives, consists of 35 mm, 120, and 4x5 negatives, many of which correspond to contact sheets in Series VI and PEP images. Series VIII: Slides contains images that mainly relate to the DC 37 History and Subject Files photographic prints series.
